Our Team

We are a multidisciplinary team of behavioral scientists, staff and trainees, including faculty with training in health behavior, pediatrics, nursing, implementation science, health services, health policy, economics, decision sciences, and psychology.

Leadership

Dr. Noel Brewer

Standing Orders/Administration Lead

Dr. Noel Brewer, Distinguished Professor of Health Behavior at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Gillings School of Global Public Health, is the Principal Investigator of the IMPACT research center and is its administrative lead. Dr. Brewer also leads the HPV vaccine standing orders project.

Dr. William Calo

Implementation Science Lead

Dr. William Calo, Associate Professor of Public Health Sciences and Family and Community Medicine at the Penn State College of Medicine, is the Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Penn State Cancer Institute. Dr. Calo co-leads the implementation science work in the IMPACT research center.

Dr. Melissa Gilkey

Vaccine champions/Implementation Science Lead

Dr. Melissa Gilkey, Associate Professor of Health Behavior at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, leads the project engaging vaccine champions to increase HPV vaccination in healthcare systems. She also co-leads the Implementation Science work in the center.

Dr. Tara Licciardello

Data Science Lead

Dr. Tara Licciardello, Senior Research Scientist in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health Department of Health Behavior, co-leads Data Science for the research center.

Dr. Sachiko Ozawa

Decision Support Tool Lead

Dr. Sachiko Ozawa, Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, co-leads the decision support tool team.

Dr. Justin Trogdon

Feedback and Incentives/Data Science Lead

Dr. Justin Trogdon, Professor of Health Policy and Management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Health, leads the project on how feedback and financial incentives for primary care clinics impact the uptake of HPV vaccination. He also co-leads the Data Science for the IMPACT research center.

Dr. Stephanie Wheeler

Decision Support Tool Lead

Dr. Stephanie Wheeler, Distinguished Professor of Health Policy and Management at the UNCGillings School of Global Public Health, co-leads the decision support tool team analyzing the cost effectiveness of the HPV vaccination improvement strategies.
